What does it mean to be an American Idiot? 

Today we will:

1. Welcome to English 1302.

This is the actual class plans for today. This will be the format for this course. Your class plans will always be up for you to review before you come to class. This is designed to help you become more informed and center the classroom around the learner....YOU! 

2. Let's go over the Syllabus

You will probably be freakin' out after we go over the syllabus, GOOD!  This course and all the courses you are enrolled in is YOUR JOB!!  You goof off, mess around, become lazy, come unprepared to class you will have to reap what you sow.

***You must sign and return the Syllabus agreement by NEXT CLASS!!!

3. Please make sure you have your textbooks by the end of next week. This includes textbooks for all courses within the Triad. We are all connected, so it is imperative you have the needed materials in order to be successful.

4. Please make sure you are able to get into your islander email account. If you don't use this account, YOU DON'T Exist!!! All communication from the University comes through this email account, so it is vital you get this account open and functional. If you need assistance please let me know!

5. Our Semester Theme for Triad F is....."American Politics, Your real Call of Duty"

You will be examining just how close you really are to the political realm and how you can make change happen.

Your First paper will be a Rhetorical Analysis

6.  Let's listen to the song American Idiot and examine what is being said and how it is being said. How does this play apart in our interpretation of the message.

What is the message? And how does it fit into our course theme?
